WHAT'S PROPOSED

Bond projects will modernize campuses that have needed updates for many years, ensuring that every student on every campus will benefit from the same educational opportunities.

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY

  • Purposeful Redesign of Learning Spaces at Olson, Cheatham, Green, Anderson, Norton, Curtis Middle, Ford Middle

  • Provide devices for students as part of the Empower 1:1 Program

  • Establish a Lifecycle Management of 5 years for student devices

  • Upgrade Classroom Interactive/Multimedia Displays & A/V

  • Existing Allen ISD Activity Complex Maintenance Update 

  • Lowery Tennis Court and track Replacement 

  • Track replacement at Curtis Middle  

  • Build multi-purpose complex at Allen High that would include the addition of 120 yards of simultaneous use space and more locker rooms, training/recovery areas and classrooms.

UPGRADES TO EXISTING FACILITIES

A majority of the bond would be used to bring the district’s other two middle schools and 7 elementary schools to this new standard of renovation to ensure all district students have access to the same academic programming and receive the same educational experience. Major renovation projects at:

  • Ford Middle School

  • Curtis Middle School

  • Allen ISD Multi-Purpose Complex

  • Olson Elementary School

  • Cheatham Elementary School

  • Green Elementary School

  • Anderson Early Childhood School

  • Norton Elementary School

SAFETY AND SECURITY

This bond would allow safety and security updates that will work together to make the campus more secure for our children and staff. Specific projects include:

  • Security camera system upgrades and additions 

  • Provide additional cameras in campus areas that need better security coverage 

  • Replace AEDs, Fire Alarms, Fire Suppression and Fire Panels that are at the end of their life cycle. 

  • Central lockdown capabilities 

  • Intruder alert systems

  • Reconfigurations of the main entrances at certain campuses to provide secure visitor entrances 

  • Life safety system upgrades

  • Various campus technologies 

  • Multipurpose complex will increase student safety

TECHNOLOGY

This bond would allow safety and security updates that will work together to make the campus more secure for our children and staff. Specific projects include:

  • WiFi Mobile Computer Devices - Students

  • Classroom Media Stations & Campus Print Devices

  • Classroom Technologies

  • WiFi Mobile Computer Devices - Teachers/Campus Staff

  • This bond would establish a Lifecycle Management of 5 years for student devices

  • Provide desktop computers for instruction & campus offices

  • Classroom Interactive/Multimedia Displays & A/V Upgrade

  • Complete the WiFi Network campus upgrade

  • Complete the wired campus network upgrades

TRANSPORTATION

  • Replace the 20% of buses that will reach the end of their useful lifespan over the next 5 years

  • Replace and upgrade legacy system hardware and software to address student safety and driver safety in real time
